Summer Swept
Summer Swept

Summer fades giving way–time of lesser things…
Dreaming of a sail upon a sea of which I sing.
Cloak of night with out a fight enfolding gentle arm
Isn’t this a foolish wish standing where you are?
Morrow comes, even done, dawn will have its due.
Smile softly if you must, it will still be true.
Children laugh for they have a dream of yesterday
Blessed hands cross the lands and sweep it well away.
Lessons learned of magic earned and summers gentle gift
Destiny must have its price for every granted wish.
If you pray upon the day for magic in your world,
Perhaps it would be helpful if your pennon be unfurled.
Wish may come, still no one candle for the flame
Seeing paradise and being there are not the same.
Summer fades giving way–time of lesser things…
Dreaming of a sail upon a sea of which I sing.
Not all things of gold are rings–Lady has her due
Smile softly if you must, it will still be true
Summer fades giving way to time of lesser things
Dreaming of a sail upon a sea of which to sing.
