Of Roses
Rose Tourney approaches, and this, for them..
Of Roses
© 2005 George Reed
Through these lands I have been and spied there a queen.
Her eyes are of starlight cascading down.
The cloak of her smile, lightens all trial,
Despite many burdens borne with a crown.
Gentle fair queen, your inner fire gleams.
How well you brighten darkest of times.
I have been many places, spied many fair faces,
But never a royal more royal and kind.
The worthies that are, by light of your star,
Climbing the steps up to Dragon’s Heart Keep.
Long you reign there, beloved and rare,
Ruling with kindness ‘til burden’s relief.
Legend and song tell of roses strong
Who keep their land free from evil and harm.
Many deeds done, while raising fine sons,
And your daughter finds strength in comforting arms.
Through these lands I have been and spied there a queen.
Her eyes are of starlight cascading down.
The cloak of her smile, lightens all trial,
Despite many burdens borne with a crown.
