Gypsy Lady
Sometimes getting your heart’s desire has…..repercussions..
Gypsy Lady

Often the bards tell of a gypsy lady,
Whose musing would echo through the night.
Her smile was laughing, Her smile bewitching.
They say she had a glow of faerie light.
Dance with me! Fly with me.
Together we will roam the centuries.
There was a merchant, whose covered wagon
Sadly threw a wheel-rim on that day.
So he set up camp with a fire before the damp,
Planning at first light to make his way.
As he rested by dwindling fire,
Embers blazed up in spire.
Across the fire ring, heard a voice sing
Sweetly as an angel with a lyre.
Dance with me! Fly with me.
Together we will roam the centuries.
He crossed the fire and stood by her,
Ever so gently kissed her hand.
Sweet gypsy lady, you touch me greatly
And truly are the fairest in the land.
Long have I sought thee, and ne’er forgot thee.
Now I shall stand here ever yours.
For I shall join thee, to roam the centuries.
We’ll dance the years away as ne’er before!
Dance with me! Fly with me.
Together we will roam the centuries.
Then came morning, dawn was warming.
The merchant woke stiff upon the ground.
He looked about him, yes all around him,
Gypsy lady wasn’t to be found.
He broke up camp then. Did last night happen?
Did he pledge forever more his soul?
He drove away and passed an old woman walking fast.
Her smile held secrets to be told.
He danced with me! He flew with me!
Now forever he will roam the centuries.
