Color of a Rose
Color of a Rose

Color of a rose is forever.
Once she lifts smile to the sun.
Her petals may fade, however
Nothing is forgotten, Rose has done.
People she inspired, every song, every fire
Every child she may give a dream
All the hours, every smile, distant call across the miles
All live on eternally
By list field she grew into someone who
Could lead trusting souls to war
In her time she sang to us and hall rang
With cheers that she reign evermore
Color of a rose is forever.
Once she lifts smile to the sun.
Her petals may fade, however
Nothing is forgotten, Rose has done.
As a bud she learned from a Rose in turn
Blessing grown stronger every year
Silver moonlight fell, casting ancient spells
Mother Rose departed with a tear
Her champion was bold, valor wrought of old
Bringing highest honor to her name
In hall or on a field, her glory was his shield
He was brighter for her flame.
Color of a rose is forever.
Once she lifts smile to the sun.
Her petals may fade, however
Nothing is forgotten, Rose has done.
When is time to go, legacy yet grows
In a lovely bud left behind
Daughter in whose light kingdom finds the right
Thus a Rose is ever on our minds
Though you wander far, please recall you are
Forever a spark of the flame
If some day you wend around homeward bend
You will find us singing your name
Color of a rose is forever.
Once she lifts smile to the sun.
Her petals may fade, however
Nothing is forgotten, Rose has done.
